The Magic of Synchronicity — What’s Showing Up in Your Life Right Now?
If the Universe is speaking to us, it's getting loud. Let's amplify it together.
I’ll never be bored again.
That because every day I happen upon a strange, head-turning, lip-protruding huh-moment of awe called a “synchronicity.”
Like the woman who shared 6 details of her life - her life ambition, her mother’s profession, the city she’ll soon live in, her genetics…which all matched my wife to the capital T. For a moment, I truly believed I poked my head into a parallel reality that was leaving me quite the message - “believe it.”
Not that I don’t believe. I actually expect these crazy, mysterious, mystical-order oddities just because they happen so frequently.
Yesterday I met with a woman who shares my exact plight to help corporate teams feel emotions, somatically relax and normalize energy work. Her interests were the same as mine and we shared a mutual admiration for a new-to-use somatic master coach in California. She’s in Kansas, I’m in Oregon. Synchronicities have no geographic boundaries.
Here’s a fun one: I rented a treatment space from a therapist who I learned in his childhood lived on 53rd Avenue behind the Vedanta Center in Portland. He even met the Dalai Lama in his own backyard! Well, turns out that I passed his house on my way to almost everywhere no less than a thousand times, including the day I first met him at the clinic. I drove by his childhood home so much that I called that then boy and now middle-aged man into my life! How strange and fun. That he met the Dalai Lama in his backyard as a boy, that is incredibly rare and fun.
I call one of my greatest friends, a fine artist and musician in Boulder, twice a week to get his synchronicity report. And, we share in the awe the inevitable cosmic connections made simply by walking out the door.
A couple of months ago I was in the car with a client friend of mine talking about our former lives, and because he mentioned food and hospitality and NYC, I thought to mention a man I know in that arena. “I met this very eccentric man from NYC, he came in to see me for healing work, he’s owns a brewery, larger than life is this guy.” And my friend says, in near disbelief, “oh, yeah, what is his name?” He knew. And when I said “Shane,” he erupted in amazement that they were not only friends, but that Shane had mentored him. Two different worlds, one in NYC and now this one in Portland, a decade apart, and we connect each of us to the same man. Not random. And, still fascinating.
No synchronicity goes unnoticed. Or under appreciated. I love this stuff.
Recently I learned of study in which 3 groups of people participated in a luck challenge. One group identified as being “unlucky,” another “sometimes lucky” and the final group, “very lucky.” They released each group into a breezeway that lead into a restaurant, leaving a $20 bill on the floor. As you might guess, none of the self-identified “unlucky” people found it. Some of the “moderately lucky” group for it. And every single one of the very lucky people found the big bucks. Which is funny because my closest friends call me a believe I’m a lucky leprechaun. These balloons were given to me by my wife over two years and still they are plumped with helium. For some they want a view of mountains, ocean or forest…for me, it’s a reminder that my luck will never run out.
What you attune to, tunes to you. I just made that up, but it sure sounds like Wayne Dyer or Joe Dispenza and their pun-filled wordplay. Jim Kwik is another of this ilk that comes to mind. “Your personality is your personal reality,” they might all say, and I see what you’re doing.
So, I want to hear: what synchronicities are you noticing? Big or small, tell us all!
And, you are invited to strengthen your personal energy tomorrow at 5:30pm Pacific / 7:30pm Central as I guide somatic-based meditation for deep relaxation.
All the details are here and I’d welcome you to join us to clear energy and to sleep more deeply. I guide meditation every week, now twice weekly with more events coming soon.
Warmly,
Joe

Hi Joe, did you turn off the link? That form of meditation sounds intriguing.
